I remember the Muskegon to Holland connection very well. We used to chase it through Muskegon Heights after church on Sundays. We rode it once to Holland and back. When I was very young, maybe 5 years old, Mom was coming home to Muskegon from Chicago on the train. We parked the car on Airline Road and waited in the dark. Soon, a headlight pierced the night and we sped alongside the train for a mile or so. It easily beat us into the station. Unforgettable!
